Alzheimer Disease is a slowly disabling brain disease which, at this time, is incurable. It results in progressive cognitive and functional disability in afflicted individuals as early as age forty and fifty, but especially the elderly. Services include: Support Groups: ongoing monthly support group meetings, early stage, parental, spousal, as well as individualized and family support addressing specific issues; Free Public Lectures and Information Sessions throughout the year; Stress Management Strategies - weekly; Making Connections Program - monthly; Volunteer Companion Program (respite); Safely Home (wandering registry); Caregiver Wellbeing Centre includes: A lending library of books, videos and publications of interest to families, professionals, students and the public.
